Well, the first place to start is perhaps thinking about getting new friends... or should I say, REAL FRIENDS. You know, failure isn't a bad thing... it's just a transition of experience. There's an old quote: "Experience is 99% failure." The fact you are asking for advice already is an indicator you are capable of learning and asking questions is the starting point of anything. Everyone seems to have the instinctive feeling to respond to failure as a massive upset to their plans. ..but, REALLY, there is no such thing as failure to succeed, only failure at early attempts. Even failure is not an end point. It is a signal for course correction. We simply cannot foresee all possible variations. It is, therefore, inevitable to get feedback, both negative and positive, and it is important to process and comprehend these rather than treat them as mere noise.
Despite the sophistication of the human brain, goal achievement is always considered an arduous achievement. This is due to not understanding the emotional structure of our brain, responding to information inappropriately, and short-circuiting hope, which in turn drains the vitality necessary to move forward. What truly creates a spirit of defeat is failure to acknowledge the sheer genius of our own subconscious minds and rely almost completely on conscious processing. Our subconscious mind is a teleological and parallel processing mechanisms whose computing power rivals and even exceeds that of the most advanced supercomputer on this planet. It is this schism between conscious deliberation and subconscious operations that causes people to give up too quickly.
Failure, then, is feedback on two levels.
On the overt level, it is failure to achieve an objective because of a misapplied or poorly understood technique.
On the covert level, it is failure for the conscious and subconscious mind to speak the same language and move congruently toward the same goal. Responding to the failure on both these levels and stimulating course correction, results in success, sometimes in the most amazing fashion, where seemingly miraculous experiences appear to rescue the situation and deliver the desired outcome.
Fail To Fail - Those who fail to fail and always succeed will never recover from failure should failure find them. Failing to fail means the meaning of success will never be realized. The strength, growth, and resolve gained from failure will not be realized. The lessons that are learned by failure will remain unlearned if failure is constant. If you always fail to fail, you most likely have selected a course that has no risk. No risk means no challenge. No challenge means no growth. Failure is necessary in order to understand the true beauty of success. Failing to fail is sought by many and found by few. Is that a good thing? Yes! Those who have failed will tell you that without failure life would be an empty journey.
Succeeding to succeed is the point when you taste the fruit of your labor. Success is measured differently by each person and lasts as long as we allow it. After all the failures that we endure, succeeding to reach success is a welcomed moment worth savoring for as long as possible. When we succeed at achieving success, it is a wonderful experience to reflect on the failures that lead to that success.
At the moment we ride our first bike, we remember the time that we fell. The day we finally got our drivers license, we can't help but remember the growth and freedom it provided. Always enjoy and revere when you succeed to succeed and utilize the knowledge gained from successes and failures to maximize life to its fullest.
